For this weeks segment on Meet the Team we wander into the marketing department and straight to the head huncho - our CMO, Josh Thillagaratnam. He's cool, calm, collected & creative; master of the Bamboo light bulb moments and everything in between. He's the perfect man to have at the helm of the marketing engine, steering the Bamboo ship to new adventures and new heights in the process so read on on and enjoy..
Thanks for joining us Josh, what's your role at Bamboo?
I'm the Chief Marketing Officer.
Ah yes - and what do you love about your job?
Working with bright, talented and driven people in trying to accomplish something really cool.
Love it! When you’re not at work - what are you up to?
Making music, gardening and spending time with the people I love.
Beautiful. And a favourite holiday destination?
Cambodia. A truly wonderful place filled with lovely people.
Truly is! Are there any crypto project you’re keeping a close eye on?
I have a soft spot for notorious alt-coin Safemoon. Forget utility, look at their marketing and the passionate following they've managed to build.
Classic! Have you been into crypto for a while?
I first invested in BTC back in 2017. To watch the landscape evolve and then get to be part of the industry has been really exciting.
If you weren’t a CMO what would you be?
I'd be working on producing a TV show in some capacity. There's a lot of similarities between that and working at a tech startup - collaborating with a team to get the best possible product to market and doing right by your audience.
What was your childhood dream?
To be the live guitarist for Nine Inch Nails.
Favourite sports team?
Arsenal F.C. Go the gunners!
Haven't heard of them since Arsene Wenger left...Here's an interesting one - Favourite social media platform and why?
I was on the Something Awful forums way back in the 90s, and then since we all moved to web 2.0 I had to find something that was like that, but better, in order to fill the void. I've sunk the most time by far into Reddit. It does everything I want from a platform - content aggregation, communities, tropes, drama, points that mean absolutely nothing, all that stuff. The good, the bad, the horrible - the internet, basically.

Whiskey Ginger. Andrew Santino is a fantastic comedian, actor and podcast host.
We'll check it out! Any TV / Movie recommendations for us?
Two TV shows starring Mackenzie Davis, one old 'Halt and Catch Fire' and one new 'Station Eleven'. Stories about the need to connect with other humans after drastic change, be it transformation brought by technology or an apocalyptic event - as these shows explore beautifully.
