2020 November Bamboo Update
The Bamboo team is in full swing and we look forward to the monthly announcements where we have the opportunity to share what we’ve been up to.
Over the last two weeks we have reached out to Bamboo users to understand your favourite parts of the app and dislikes, so we can work towards creating a better user experience. What we found is that many of you want to engage with the app more regularly, so we will look towards developing enhancements and features which allow for this.
As noted in last month’s update, we exceeded $1M Assets Under Management (AMU) and since then the AMU is up around 50% to $1.5M 🚀. As the crypto market continues its incredible run, our users are rewarded with great returns.
🛠 NEW FEATURES 🛠
We are excited to announce the launch of the following new features and enhancements:
- Self Managed Super Fund (SMSF) is Here!
You can now use the Bamboo App to gain exposure to digital assets in your SMSF.
It can take days or even weeks to allocate a portion of your Super to digital assets. Bamboo has made it easy. Within just minutes you can safely have exposure to digital assets in your super fund.
All you need to do is create an SMSF account via the app. For now, you can only have one account per mobile number, but very soon we will be implementing the ability for people to have multiple accounts. This will allow users to have both everyday savings functionality for their top-ups as well as an additional superannuation account.
Bamboo aims to remove the barrier to entry and support easy access to the market.
2. Increased Daily Limits.
It’s not only PayPal who have increased their buy limits. Bamboo now allows users to apply to increase their daily limit up to $20,000 for instant top-ups. No longer will users have to wait to get in or out of the market. At Bamboo, we aim to remove the barriers to entry, in a quick, safe and secure way.
If you would like to apply to increase your daily limit, please do it via your settings menu.
3. Trade Reports
Trade reports are finally here. You can download your trade history from the click of a button in your settings menu. This will help users with tax reporting and compliance associated with your SMSF.

We are proud to announce two new key team members to Bamboo who are focused on driving platform growth and expanding the various business functions.
Blake Cassidy — Interim Chief Executive Officer
Blake is an entrepreneur at heart working across different sectors with a focus on innovation. Blake’s background of bringing products to market and his strategic thinking has allowed him to be successful building businesses.
Blake was an early investor into Bamboo and also worked with the company throughout 2018. He understands the business and is passionate about delivering on the vision.
Blake’s focus is on building strong cohesive teams to execute on the company's goals. As well as this, Blake is focusing on expanding the Bamboo platform, not just here in Australia, but also internationally.

Blake is an experienced Product, Marketing & Growth specialist sitting at the intersection between Data, Marketing & Product. He is passionate about the balance between cost efficiency and gaining early traction for startups and new product lines.
